One thing you will notice if you visit my space is how much of my own art is present. Art for me is the barometer measuring how well I am doing. When things are good, I make tons of art… but when things are stressful, art is the first thing that disappears. I have also noticed, as an art therapist, that the first step in making things feel better in those moments, is to make art. I feel strongly that art is a wonderful coping strategy… and I practice what I preach.
